




What we offer:
We promise to supply you with healthy live birds and the freshest hatching eggs that we possibly can. We will only sell quality birds, free of illness or known defect. We collect hatching eggs 2-3 times per day and will ship them within 24 hours of collection whenever possible.
Live birds will be shipped via USPS Express Mail, and hatching eggs will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Prior to shipping any live birds, we will contact you via e-mail or phone to confirm that you are ready to receive your birds. We will not ship birds or eggs unless we have spoken to you or have received a return e-mail stating that you are prepared to receive your order.
Note: The post office does not ship live birds to all locations. When contacting us to place an order for live birds, please provide a mailing address with zip code so that we may verify with the post office that your order can be shipped. Currently, we do not offer any other shipping alternatives for live birds or hatching eggs than USPS Express and Priority Mail.
Live bird shipments: Birds shipped via USPS Express mail usually arrive at their destination in 24-48 hours. Any time a live bird is shipped via the postal service, there is an inherent, although very small risk of the loss of one or more birds. Having said that, the USPS has a very good track record of delivering live birds in good condition. We will package your order in approved shipping boxes with food and water to give them their best chance of a safe arrival. In the event of the loss of one or more birds, we will provide replacement birds for free, provided you agree to pay for the second shipping cost. We will not refund your payment for birds lost during or as a result of transit. Replacement of the lost birds is the only settlement option. You will be asked to read this policy prior to finalizing your order. Your payment will indicate the acceptance of these terms.
Payment for live birds is due prior to shipment. Once the birds are shipped, no refund can be made. However, if we are unable ship your order within a pre-determined timeframe, you may request a refund prior to shipment.
Custom Hatching: For custom hatching, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required, with a minimum of four birds ordered. If we are not able to ship your custom hatched birds in the predetermined time frame, a full refund will be given.
Hatching egg orders: Eggs shipped via USPS Priority Mail usually arrive in 2-3 days and can be shipped nationwide. Eggs are collected several times a day to ensure that you receive the freshest eggs possible. Eggs are carefully packed with a generous amount of cushioning material to give them their best chance of survival. Unless you specify otherwise, your package will be labeled "Fragile - Handle With Care - Live Eggs". The post office is usually very good about handling fragile packages with care, but for obvious reasons, there is an inherent risk to the eggs during transit. The eggs may be subjected to such stresses as shock, vibration, excessive heat, cold, or radiation. These stresses can drastically affect the viability of the eggs, to the extent wiping out the entire batch. In these cases, you will notice at the end of the incubation period, there will be little or no embryonic development in a majority of the eggs. This is a rare occurrence, however if it should happen to you, we will replace the eggs for free, provided you agree to pay for the second shipping cost. We will not refund your payment for eggs damaged in transit. Replacement of the damaged eggs is the only settlement option. You will be asked to read this policy prior to finalizing your order. Your payment will indicate the acceptance of these terms.
All of our breeding pairs are tested periodically for fertility. Eggs from each producing pair are incubated for a period of four days. The eggs are then opened to determine their fertility. Only eggs from the pairs that have tested fertile are shipped to our customers, ensuring the highest possible assumption of fertility. Due to many factors beyond our control, we can not guarantee any specific hatch rate. We can only say that we enjoy very high fertility rates and consistently achieve good hatch rates. Hatch rates naturally decline during the winter months, and for this reason, we will include extra eggs with your order from October through March.
We maintain roughly sixty breeding pairs at the ranch, and in most cases we can collect your order from a single days laying. For larger or custom orders, it may take longer to assemble your order. We will communicate this variance to you based on current factors such as the number of laying hens or the availability of certain colors.
Payment for hatching eggs is due prior to collection of the eggs. Once the eggs are shipped, no refund can be made. However, if we are unable ship your order within a pre-determined timeframe, you may request a refund prior to shipment.
Custom hatching egg orders (those which are not straight run) are refundable prior to shipment, less the $5 custom service charge.
"Straight run" is defined as a random selection of eggs without regard for color or pattern of the parent birds.
Direct Sales: Live birds over two weeks old purchased and picked up locally at the ranch will carry a seven day health guarantee, and can be replaced for free, to be picked up at the ranch.
