Bucket-O-Buns
Welcome to ButtonQuailUSA!

These pages are the official site for the Button Quail operations of the Eisenbeisz Family Ranch, also known as "The Rocking E".  I'm Don Eisenbeisz, and I hope you enjoy the information presented herein.

This site is dedicated to the species Coturnix Chinensis, the Chinese Painted Quail.  Commonly called Button Quail in the United States, they are also known as King Quail in Australia, and in parts of Asia and Europe it has been referred to as the Asian Blue Breasted Quail.

Measuring only five inches in length, the button quail is the smallest of all of the quail species. Available in a beautiful array of colors and patterns, the button quail is a fascinating and very enjoyable bird to raise, study, and admire.

These birds are a natural addition to any aviary setting, co-existing very well with other birds, occupying the floor space often ignored by the
"high dwellers".

Button quail can be raised in a colony style aviary setting, as well as in separate caged pairs. As long as their basic needs are met, they are sure to provide you with loads of enjoyment, as well as a fascinating demonstration of the avian life-cyle process.

On this site you will learn more about the history of the button quail, where to find them, and how to care for them.  You will also find useful resources to aid in the identification of your birds by sex and color, and how to breed for specific traits, colors, or patterns.

Thanks for stopping by!
